Ducor Petrochemicals B.V. specializes in the production of polypropylene raw materials (granules), and the marketing of polypropylene and polyethylene from its own production and from the parent company. Ducor is a medium sized 24/7 run operation, producing raw material for various industries. Ducor characterizes itself as an informal, flat organization with short lines where no two days are the same. In total, there are 100 permanent employees working at the plant in Rozenburg, and approximately 40 hired FTE on a daily basis. Ducor Petrochemicals is part of an international listed company.

The position
This position is expected to improve reliable financial reporting enabling more firm management and financial controls. The Finance Director must provide clear insight into the P&L and ensure that all business decisions are financially transparent, from weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports (including IFRS reports) to individual sales deals and decisions regarding the import of specific raw materials. You will be responsible for the financial management of the organization and for communicating this to internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will ensure the accurate and timely execution of financial administration, including periodic reports and the annual financial statements. You will lead a team of about eleven colleagues and report directly to the Managing Director. You will also be responsible for further professionalizing the department. As a member of the Management Team, you will share responsibility for developing the vision and formulating and implementing the organization’s strategy.

The profile

  • a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. An academic background with an emphasis on finance is preferred;
  • at least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a production and Seveso environment, for example as a Finance Director or in a Senior Controller position with leadership experience, ideally within the chemistry sector;
  • a proven track record in P&L reporting;
  • a financial leader with experience in managing, motivating, and developing a finance team;
  • good knowledge of international financial reporting standards, compliance, and risk management practices;
  • (hands-on) experience in optimizing/enhancing financial processes and implementing systems to achieve operational excellence;
  • experience in determining and directing the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems;
  • the internal drive to look beyond your responsibilities in improving and advancing the organization to the next level;
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels;
  • a leadership style based on clarity, transparency and consistency, strong teamwork, ownership, with a human touch in managing people, and the capability to motivate, develop, facilitate, and inspire them;
  • personal skills: strong leader, entrepreneurial and enthusiastic go-getter, leads by example, strong conceptual skills, but also hands-on;
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
