Job
You will lead a highly skilled team of engineering professionals (twenty one in total) across different countries (Spain, Bulgaria, China etcetera). Additionally, you will indirectly manage the Engineering Managers in various production facilities. You will report to the Senior Business Development & Sales in the organization. There is a great emphasis on R&D, but the Sales and Development Teams want to be better linked. (Therefore this joint reporting line). As a consequence of the ambitious nature and challenges of the board, your long-term objective will be the growth of your department.
Under supervision of the Global Director Research and Development, engineering processes and projects are managed, goals are achieved, and a significant contribution to product strategy is in ensured.
There is a special focus on joint developments with the “Tier 1 suppliers”, this is for long-term partnerships. Mutual investments (tooling, machines or equipment) and contract management issues are primarily part of these involvements.
You should feel comfortable in a “bridge builder” role between different disciplines; such as operations and technology.
Profile
You have completed a higher education or master’s in the field of technology; for example mechanical engineering. Furthermore, you have at least ten years engineering experience and, of course, management/ leadership skills. Moreover, you are an excellent communicator. Experience in the world of manufacturing or industry (Automotive (Suppliers) would be beneficial but not strictly necessary) is highly desirable. Individuals with a background in test or measurement environments are also very welcome. You have strategic insight and are capable of translating a technology roadmap into a strategic plan through execution. You have extensive experience in project management and change management. Due to the nature of this international position, you are fluent in English (German is a plus) and are willing to travel when needed (approx. 10%). Finally, you are a people manager with excellent leadershipskills.
Procedure
There will be several interview rounds with representatives from Lodiers & Partners (week 25 and 26) and with our client (week 27). A personality questionnaire (Lumina) is part of this procedure.
