The position
As Head of Finance you are responsible for the financial department and financial health of Genetwister Technologies. This is done by:
- taking the lead in the preparation of the annual and multi-year company budgets, and timely preparation of the annual accounts with external accountants;
- ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders externally and internally throughout the year;
- being a pro-active member of the Management Team and collaborating with the Project Leaders in the research departments to assist them with the financial aspects of project management;
- acting as sparring partner for all employees regarding topics with a financial component and keeping the companies’ policies up to date.
The profile
- a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field;
- a minimum of ten years of experience in a comparable finance role and qualified to independently coordinate, manage and advise on all aspects of the finance of a company;
- (hands-on) experience in optimizing/enhancing financial processes and implementing strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs and systems;
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enthusiastic to share knowledge about financial processes with colleagues;
- the internal drive to look beyond your responsibilities in improving and bringing the organization to the next level;
- eager to stay informed about new developments in the professional field of finance, insurances, pensions, law and regulations;
- a leadership style based on clarity and consistency, strong teamwork, ownership with a human touch in managing people with the capability to motivate, develop, facilitate and enthuse;
- personal skills: lead by example, cooperative, flexible, strong conceptual skills, but also hands-on, reliable, service oriented and structured;
- experience in matrixed or project-based organization is preferred;
- affinity with the agricultural or biotechnology industry is preferred;
- excellent verbal & written communication skills in Dutch and English.
