Ducor Petrochemicals BV

Our client, Ducor Petrochemicals BV, specializes in the production of polypropylene raw materials (granules), and the marketing of polypropylene and polyethylene from its own production and from the parent company. Ducor is a medium sized 24/7 run operation, producing raw material for various industries. Ducor characterizes itself as an informal, flat organization with short lines where no two days are the same. In total, there are 100 permanent employees working at the plant in Rozenburg, and approximately 40 hired FTE on a daily basis. Ducor Petrochemicals is part of an international listed company.

The position

As HSEQ Manager, you are part of the Management Team. You will lead a team of four colleagues and report directly to the Managing Director. You lead and promote the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs and systems that support excellence in quality, environment, health, and safety within a 24/7 Seveso organization. Daily activities involve the development and production of products using hazardous materials. Strict guidelines (Seveso) are therefore in place to ensure safety. Safety, health, environment, and quality are the top priorities for the organization, both in relation to people and services. The HSEQ Manager plays a crucial role in translating this mindset into actions and further developing and maintaining the management system. 

You are responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all legal requirements associated with a Seveso/BRZO organization. Safety and BRZO policies, safety reports, and environmental permits are well managed under your supervision. You act as a sparring partner for the management team and serve as an interface with authorities such as DCMR, VRR, RWS, etc. You manage the management system and various certifications, ensuring adherence to all relevant quality standards and ISO norms (9001, 14001, 13485).

The profile

• a completed bachelor's or master's degree, such as in Chemical Engineering;
• at least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a production and Seveso environment, for example, as an HSEQ Manager or Supervisor, or in a managerial position within an Operations department, ideally in the chemical industry;
• knowledge of and affinity with Seveso companies is a must;
• engagement with both people and the product;
• understanding of the challenges regarding sustainability within the chemical industry;
• excellent managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills;
• proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Procedure

There will be several rounds of interviews with Lodiers & Partners and our client. A personality questionnaire and an assessment are part of the process.
