Maintenance & Engineering Manager

Our client, Ducor Petrochemicals BV, specializes in the production of polypropylene raw materials (granules), and the marketing of polypropylene and polyethylene from its own production and from the parent company. Ducor is a medium sized 24/7 run operation, producing raw material for various industries. Ducor characterizes itself as an informal, flat organization with short lines where no two days are the same. In total, there are 100 permanent employees working at the plant in Rozenburg, and approximately 40 hired FTE on a daily basis. Ducor Petrochemicals is part of an international listed company.

The position

As the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you are part of the Management Team. You will lead a team of approximately 27 colleagues and report directly to the Managing Director. You are responsible for managing the maintenance department and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all work to maintain asset integrity and utilization in line with the business plan. You will guide the department through current organizational changes and optimizations according to future guidelines and requirements within a 24/7 Seveso organization.

Your goal is to elevate maintenance to a higher level, which involves adopting a completely new approach. In addition to maintenance-related responsibilities, the CapEx/investment program also falls under your purview. This includes the development and prioritization of projects in collaboration with the Management Team (MT), as well as the execution of all CapEx investments.

The profile

• a completed bachelor's or master's degree, such as in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering;
• at least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a production and/or maintenance Seveso environment, for example, as a Maintenance Manager or Supervisor, or in a managerial position within an Operations department, ideally in the chemical industry;
• engagement with both people and products;
• knowledge of and affinity with Seveso companies is a must;
• leadership experience in outsourced activities, including contract and contractor management;
• excellent managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills;
• proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Procedure

There will be several rounds of interviews with Lodiers & Partners and Ducor. A personality questionnaire and an assessment are part of the process.
