Element Amsterdam is an accredited laboratory that provides a wide range of Materials Testing, Corrosion Testing, Coatings Testing, Weld Testing, and Failure Analysis services to the Oil & Gas sector. Within the five locations in the Netherlands and Belgium, this site plays a pivotal role and holds the position of a significant and inspirational HUB for national and international meetings and visitors.


Responsibilities and position in the organization 
The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and optimizing operational processes within this laboratory and has the primary mission to uphold the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and industry compliance across all testing and analytical activities. The 44 highly skilled technical professionals are based in each area of expertise, divided into 6 teams with teamleads. The Operations Manager should be a role model in taking responsibility and be capable of creating and maintaining an overview. Additionally, maintaining and expanding relationships with both suppliers and clients during ongoing projects belongs to the responsibilities. The Operations Manager reports to the General Manager of Element Netherlands, Belgium and Italy (located in Breda). 

The profile qualifications/education and/or experience:

  • working knowledge in a technical production context;
  • an HBO in engineering or technical-related discipline;
  • a minimum of two-five years of experience in an operations management role;
  • ability to organize department programs and supervise staff as well as multitask and work under strict timelines;
  • strong organizational, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills to effectively establish and maintain two-way communications to understand the needs and concerns of all departments;
  • strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills provide go-to insight into the daily efficient operation of the lab;
  • fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Procedure 
There will be several interview rounds with representatives from Lodiers & Partners and our client. A personality questionnaire (Lumina) is part of this procedure.
