The global technology center in Etten-Leur, known as AB Mauri Global Bakery Ingredients (GBI), plays a crucial role in delivering this expertise. This center, along with a small production site, employs around 120 people from over 20 nationalities, creating a truly international environment.

AB Mauri is part of Associated British Foods (ABF), a diversified international group that includes well-known brands in food, ingredients, and retail. ABF’s portfolio ranges from household staples to specialty ingredients, with brands like Twinings, Jordans, and fashion retailer Primark. The group is listed on the London Stock Exchange, operates in 52 countries, employs over 133,000 people, and generates a turnover of approximately €23 billion.

Main goal of the position 
The Procurement Lead oversees procurement for the Bakery Ingredients Global Technology Centre in Etten-Leur, encompassing raw materials, packaging, third-party manufacturing, services, and capital. In this new role, you will identify new ingredient and packaging technologies to support strategic growth. Additionally, the role plays a key part in advancing GBI’s sustainable sourcing practices, including conducting lifecycle analysis.

The position 
As the GBI Procurement Lead, you ensure high standards of environmental and social governance throughout GBI's supply chains, including adherence to the ABF Supplier Code of Conduct. You manage daily procurement activities, oversee the input costs of external suppliers, and support budgeting and reforecasting processes. You identify new suppliers to reduce costs and mitigate supply risks, ensuring optimal supplier performance aligned with On-Time-In-Full and GBI quality standards.
In collaboration with Finance and Supply & Manufacturing, you minimize working capital while preventing disruptions. You support robust procurement processes, develop sourcing strategies, and recommend contracting approaches based on market trends, all while maintaining the Cost Risk Tracker.
Working with AB Mauri and ABF Global Category Leaders, you leverage scale advantages, identify sources for new products, and manage supplier agreements. Additionally, you conduct environmental sustainability assessments, perform lifecycle analyses (LCAs), and ensure GBI stays informed about the latest sustainability trends and practices. trends, providing insights for product improvements and environmental optimization.

The profile
Because this is a new local role within a global network organization, you understand what it takes to be successful and can adjust your personal behavior accordingly. Ambition, ethics, and collaboration are among your core values. Additionally, you meet the following requirements:

  • a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree, ideally in a science-based field with modules in Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, etc.;
  • fluency in both spoken and written English;
  • additional procurement qualifications such as NEVI or equivalent international certifications (or currently enrolled) are required;
  • proven ability to operate in complex international environments within a major private sector organization;
  • a minimum of five years of experience at a mid-senior Category Leader level within a major private sector organization;
  • experience in cross-border and global sourcing;
  • strong experience in both direct and indirect categories, with a proven personal track record of successful delivery;
  • ability to work effectively and make an impact in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and multicultural environments;
  • excellent skills in personal planning and organization.

Procedure
