Established in 2011, Samsung SDS Cello Logistics, part of the Korean multinational Samsung Group, is one of the fastest-growing logistics service providers in the world. The company specializes in innovative logistics services by developing and applying optimized solutions, as well as providing Supply Chain Management (SCM) consultancy to customers through its proprietary Cello platform. Samsung SDS Cello Logistics operates in 40 countries worldwide, employing more than 4500 logistics experts. The Regional Headquarters in Delft is seeking a Procurement & Pricing Director for a newly created role within the organization.

Main goal of the position 
To lead and optimize procurement activities within the regional headquarters by ensuring price competitiveness, managing and developing the procurement team, ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines, and facilitating effective decision-making and stakeholder collaboration to maximize business value.

The position
The position includes leading tariff negotiations to secure price competitiveness, primarily for warehouse and road transport. It also involves leading a sourcing team of 13 people (including 2 direct reports), ensuring alignment with procurement goals, and collaborating closely with global headquarters, customers, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include setting team goals, monitoring performance, and continuously improving procurement processes through training and best-practice sharing. Fact-based decision-making and ensuring spend transparency are critical, as well as preparing and leading team and leadership meetings.
Additionally, the role requires ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines and acting as the main point of contact for internal customers to maximize business value.

The profile 
We are searching for a senior professional with a strong understanding of procurement processes, best practices, and market trends. We place great value on your excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills. Extensive expertise in indirect procurement and procurement methodologies, including processes, systems, and toolboxes, is essential for this role. You are accustomed to working in an international environment and can adjust your behavior accordingly.
Furthermore, you bring:

  • a bachelor’s or master’s degree in logistics, business administration, or equivalent knowledge gained from relevant leadership and people management experience;
  • over 20 years of experience in the logistics industry, particularly in warehouse and road transportation;
  • proven experience (5+ years) in logistics pricing, strategic sourcing, or procurement;
  • leadership experience, ideally in strategic sourcing or procurement;
  • experience in the European logistics market is preferred;
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • a valid Dutch work permit (if applicable for international candidates).

There will be several interview rounds with representatives from Lodiers & Partners, as well as with our client. A personality questionnaire (Lumina) will be part of the selection process. Additionally, an assessment center and/or a presentation of a business case may also be included.
